We should consider filming a remake of the popular Polish film “Four Tankers and a Dog” in order to block the attempts to discredit the feat of the Red Army soldiers liberating European countries, said Mikhail Myagkov, adviser to the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, scientific director of the Russian Military Historical Society (RVIO).

- In its activities, RVIO supports or creates many films relating to the Second World War, the First World War, and the battle for Sevastopol. Remember, at one time there was a wonderful film "Four Tankers", a great film. I would now think about making a remake of it, ”said Mikhail Myagkov at a meeting of the patriotic platform of“ United Russia ”.

The Polish black-and-white television series Czterej pancerni i pies directed by Konrad Nalencki talks about the crew of the tank "Red" and a dog named Sharik during World War II. Together with the Soviet Army they liberated Poland and Germany from the Nazi forces. In the USSR, the series was first shown in 1966.

“We will block any attempts to discredit the feat of the Red Army soldiers who liberated European countries, ” added Myagkov.

Recall that the lower house (parliament) of the Polish parliament on June 22 voted to amend the law banning the promotion of communism or another totalitarian system in the names of buildings and objects. The document provides for the demolition of monuments of the Soviet era, including military ones. According to estimates by the Institute of National Memory of Poland, which is responsible for memorial work, the law on decommunization will affect about 230 monuments of the Red Army. The law can come into force if it is signed by the president of the country.
