Exhibition of academic drawing and painting by students of the Moscow State Academic Art College in Memory of 1905

Dear friends! We invite you to the opening of the Exhibition of Academic Drawing and Painting by Students of the Moscow State Academic Art College in Memory of 1905.

The exposition included 36 paintings and 66 works of the academic drawing of students from the art-methodical fund of the school of different years, starting from the post-war period. All of them are of great interest, both for specialists and for lovers of classical painting.

The Moscow State University of Architecture and Arts in memory of 1905 is one of the leading educational institutions, a methodological center, and a developer of the content of secondary professional art education in the Russian Federation, founded in 1925.

The activities of the school are associated with the names of famous people of national culture. The teachers and art directors of the school in different years were the President of the Academy of Arts of the USSR A.M. Gerasimov, Full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR V.N. Baksheev, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People’s Artist of the RSFSR N.P. Krymov, Honored Artist of the RSFSR A.I. Sakhanov, Honored Artist of the RSFSR V.A. Shestakov and many other outstanding masters of Soviet and contemporary Russian art.

The walls of the school received a ticket to life outstanding figures of our culture, such as V.I. Pastukhov, E.N. Troshev (their works are presented at the exhibition). Vladimir Isaakovich Pastukhov for many years collected the “Golden Fund” of drawings, saving them for future generations. He raised many famous artists. Among them - Oleg Supereko; Vladimir Aronin and Elena Mironova - teacher at the School of Watercolor Sergey Andriyaka. Evgeny Nikolayevich Troshev over many years of truly ascetic work at the school and at the Surikov Institute raised such famous artists as Sergey Andriyaka, Sergey Prisekin, Vasily Nesterenko, Peter Stronsky, Alexander Shilov, Natalya Besednova, Olga Volokitina, Sergey Surovtsev, Alexandra Vertinskaya and many others having instilled in them a deep love of art and a sense of civic duty.

One generation of artists is replaced by another. Pupils continue the work of their teachers. And continue with dignity. The clearest proof of this is the exhibition of academic drawing and painting by students of the Moscow State Academic Art School in Memory of 1905 at the International Exhibition Center of the Sergey Andriyaka Watercolor School.

The motto of the exhibition may be the phrase of the outstanding Soviet artist-painter and the oldest teacher of the school in memory of 1905 Vasily Nikolayevich Baksheev - "Painting is a picture in color." This idea should be regarded as a great respect for the principles of the academic school, in which drawing occupied one of the first places.
