Exhibition of Alexander and Dmitry Pankins "Dialogue of number and light." 12+

April 5 in the gallery "On Kashirka" association "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" opens the exhibition "Dialogue of Number and Light" by Alexander and Dmitry Pankins. Creativity of artists is aimed at exploring the deep connections of science and art.

Meta-abstractions by Alexander Pankin (from the series “Scientific Art”) represent complex mathematical abstractions in geometrically constructed clean spaces. The artist declares the importance of the objective factor in the creative process: "The less subjective, sensual interference in this process, the better."

Harmonious in color relationships and constructive basis, compositions appeal not only to feeling, but also to the intellectual experience of the viewer.

The artist’s works are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the State Center for Contemporary Art and others.

The works of Dmitry Pankin are devoted to geometric abstraction. The artist chooses “thin” and fragile techniques - paper, watercolor, Chinese ink - immersing his compositions in the light space. Light becomes the main element in the elusive connection between reality and illusory.

Curator Vitaly Patsyukov notes: “The optics of Dmitry Pankin belongs to the spaces of geometric structures, not only naturally denoting them, but also providing them with new recognition. The artist, using deformed paper as a special place of the “event” of equilibrium systems, as an image of our living environment, builds his plastic constructions in a lively free topography… the artist’s geometry testifies to our constant connections with the naturalness and organic life. ”
