Exhibition "ATOPOS" Automatic translate
с 29 Апреля
по 29 МаяВарочный цех
Волковское шоссе, 12
Москва
The brewhouse presents the project of young artists - sculptor Ekaterina Kovalenko and photographer Vera Barkalova - “Atopos” (other Greek - unclassified). Over the course of two months, a large-scale installation dedicated to the problem of attitude to the body will be created on the territory of the art space using various media (sculpture, photography, video and sound). Sound design will be created by sound artist Pavel Korkin.
In their work, artists think about forms of self-perception, reflect on the boundaries of the human body and how a person communicates with the external and internal world. The main question that the authors are trying to find an answer to is whether the body is a determining factor in the issue of human self-identification?
The installation will be presented on the third floor of the "Cooking Shop", which during the exhibition will turn into a pool filled with black water, over whose surface anonymous sculptures will rise, and images of human bodies will appear in their reflections.
A catalog will be printed for the opening, including quotes from philosophical and literary texts on the body and the problem of the relationship of the sexes. A special program will also be organized, including lectures, discussions and workshops. Stay tuned for updates on the site - brewhouse.pro .
