“Color Indicator of Society” is the first solo exhibition of a young Moscow photo artist. “Stories of real people with colored hair, choosing a bright life for themselves,” - this is how Anastasia Kravchenko described her project.
Muscovites joined the project, united by a common idea: self-expression through hair color. In the language of photography, the exhibition tells about the bright people living near us. This is a kind of revelation, a search for answers to questions that concern young people: “Who am I in this world? What am I dreaming of? Am I like everyone else or not? ”
Hair color is the beginning of a conversation about self-identification, it is part of the image of a person. It can be a protest to society. Or, conversely, follow the trend. Unusual hair color is a kind of psychological defense, “mask”. Often, this is the desire to be “your own” in a social group, the need for approval among peers.
Visitors to the exhibition will see photo portraits of the heroes of the project and get acquainted with the history of each “character”. Anastasia Kravchenko collected in the project stories of different people with extraordinary hair color and gave a “voice” to each hero.
All works are united by the statement of actor Danny Kay: "Life is a big, big canvas, and you have to throw all the paint you can on it!"
