Exhibition of Graphics by Alexander Muravyov "Fragments"

The exhibition "Fragments" of the national artist of Russia, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexander Muravyov will open on October 28 at the Siberian Art Gallery of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum.

The exhibition will feature 65 drawings made in pencil and pastel. These are mainly new works created after the author moved to Moscow. A significant part of them - more than 40 sheets - belongs to the cycle “Bible stories”: here is the sacrifice of Abraham, and the images of the prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah, and the righteous Lot, and the apostle Paul.

Another series of graphic sheets was called “Sergius of Radonezh. The Healer of the Russian Land. " The artist’s appeal to the tests of the Holy History, to the fatherly Tradition is an opportunity to talk about his time, an attempt to find answers to the eternal questions of being: life and death, good and evil, love and hate, hope and despair.

At the exhibition, one can also see sheets from the Poteshki series, which are characterized by vivid imagery and an optimistic perception of the world. This is the master’s appeal to a living folk tradition, folklore.

A joyful and full-blooded feeling of life, clarity combined with lyrical, quiet intonation are the main features and features of the artist’s work. He generously gives this joy to the audience.

According to Alexander Muravyov, the exhibition "Fragments" he dedicated to the memory of his friend - artist Nikolai Basharin, who passed away in September this year.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on October 28 at the address: Irkutsk, st. Karl Marx, 23. Starting at 16. 00. Entrance to the opening is free. The exhibition will run until November 22, 2015.
