The exhibition “And you will see the world is beautiful…” introduces the audience to the work of two graphic artists of the Kaluga region Lyudmila Kiseleva and Nikolai Milov.
Lyudmila Georgievna Kiseleva (born 1942) - artist, journalist, public figure. Honorary citizen of Borovsk, holder of the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 2nd class, laureate of the international prize "Profession - Life", member of the Union of Artists of Russia, member of the Union of Journalists of Russia.
L. Kiseleva lives and works in Borovsk. Bedridden by a serious illness, she was able to overcome, by the power of her spirit, the destiny of loneliness and oblivion, which she seemed destined for. In 1965, L. Kiseleva graduated from the correspondence university of fine arts, the faculty of painting and drawing. From this moment she is a participant in city and regional exhibitions. To date, she has held more than 10 solo exhibitions. Her works were exhibited at Moscow State University, Pravda Publishing House, Shchukin Theater School, USSR Council of Ministers (Moscow).
Lyudmila Kiseleva - graphic artist dealing with paper, ink, watercolors, tempera and felt-tip pen. Her works are full of lyricism and sentimentality. The poetic vision of the world in them is organically combined with the search for a new perspective on the familiar phenomena that surround us.
The main topics of the artist’s work are nature and people, feelings and relationships. But the most important and reverently personal topic for her is the beautiful world of dreams and dreams, the world of dreams and mirages. Such are her works: "Children’s Dreams", "Lunar Waltz", "Girl-Spring and the Wind" and others.
Portrait works of L. Kiseleva: “Girl with freckles”, “Portrait of a young man”, “Bride” are full of charm, sincere interest and love for nature.
She embodies her ideas on paper in an exciting, reverent and always very expressive way. Each new work is a personal revelation, it is the poetics of the soul and the strength of character, sincerely and sensitively embodied in the running and interweaving of lines and strokes.
Nikolai Milov (1957) - an unprofessional graphic artist and master of arts and crafts.
N. Milov - a native of the village. Ermolino of the Kaluga region. In 1876 he graduated from the Moscow Railway College. Then he served in the Navy. After the service he returns to his native village. Here in 1882, for the first time, he picks up a pencil in order to do creative work.
The artist’s graphic works presented at the exhibition were created in the 80s. Twentieth century. These are landscapes made in pastel technique of the city of Borovsk, which became N. Milov’s family and loved, to which he moved and where he lives and works today, as well as sheets from the artist’s “Leningrad cycle”.
Nikolai Milov is an artist without any discounts. Creating his work on simple wrapping paper (tinted pastels), he uses mascara, pencil, charcoal and wooden sticks to create light, filled with joyful emotional experiences, pictures. Somewhere fancy, somewhere fabulous, somewhere elegant-realistic, his works are always imbued with the mood of the author and emotionally elevated. Examining the work, we can always understand where the artist is sad and longing, and where his heart sings and his soul sparkles.
Examining the works of N. Milov, who reverently reveals to us the beauty of Borovsk, we are almost physically transported to his provincial streets, experiencing emotional excitement and aesthetic satisfaction from unintended, as if just snatched from the space compositions of the artist and harmoniously capacious color combinations his work.
The aftertaste of the exhibition, which lasts for a long time and beyond, remains a deep joy and enthusiasm for the fact that people like Lyudmila Kiseleva and Nikolai Milov live next to us in this “best of the worlds”.
