Exhibition "... and, of course, football!"

The Museum of Moscow will open an exhibition with the works of contemporary artists of the St. Petersburg school on sports topics in painting.

During the World Cup Championships in Russia, the Museum of Moscow together with the LUCH Gallery of Modern Art will present an artistic parallel to the main event in the world of men’s sports.

The exhibition will feature modern painting, the unifying theme of which is various sports and, of course, football. The artists of the Petersburg school Denis Egelsky, Kirill Kipyatkov and Andrei Krisanov will present their work.

The contemporary art of St. Petersburg is known for its picturesque tradition. The authors are united by a movement towards the classics as opposed to modernist conceptualism. Sport in its ancient view - as the embodiment of the ideas of humanism, filled with sacred meaning - is an idea that is fundamental for all three artists.

Artists, whose works can be seen at the Museum of Moscow, represent the direction of painting as the New Academy and the association "New Artists", founded by Timur Novikov in the 1980s, and the new formation.

The exhibition will be held from April 27 to July 15 in the first building of Provision warehouses (Zubovsky Boulevard, 2)
