As part of the opening, a theatrical performance from the actors of the Theater named after Fedor Volkov, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow.
Young artists were invited to analyze their attitude to the events of the Great Patriotic War, to get used to the situation of the beginning of a large-scale and terrible tragedy. The task was not to create memorial works, but to display in accessible artistic ways the images that arise in contact with this topic. The objective of the exhibition is to present images of the War, which suddenly dragged millions of people into its circulation. The focus is on Man. The artist must stand "on the side of Man."
The project was attended by young artists, graduates of the Surikov Institute, and the masters of modern art Konstantin Khudyakov, Ivan Kolesnikov, Sergey Denisov, whose work organizes the conceptual structure of the exposition.
“Such exhibitions are an extremely important phenomenon in the cultural life of the country. Culture is a special space in which the most important moral coordinates for society are defined and maintained. The memory of the tragic pages of our history should be a guarantee of the impossibility of repeating this in the future. Projects designed to preserve and strengthen historical memory are as relevant as ever. ”
“The last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War are leaving for another world… The time has come to interpret the war in human history. A dangerous time in all respects, in which we all endlessly and unexpectedly begin to become convinced. In near real time, from multimedia screens, billions of people watch hourly, daily countless tragedies and deaths. Living people… Ambition, greed, cynicism, lack of conscience of national, transnational elites know no boundaries and cause disgust among normal people, and among artists - the desire in plastic forms to reflect their indignation and pain. The author of this project is a young talented artist Vyacheslav Ereshchuk, who managed to collect for its implementation, along with famous masters, young and very partial authors. The project is dedicated to the iconic date for the Russians - June 22, and is a rare example of the possible and desired relevance of visual art. ”
Yaroslavl received the baton of the international traveling exhibition JUNE 22 from Saratov, Volga branch of the Russian Academy of Arts. The exhibition is held at the invitation of the management of the Vyatskoye Historical and Cultural Complex and is supported by the TASHIR Group of Companies in the village of Krasny Profintern in the reconstructed complex Ponizovkina Castle.
The events of the exhibition project are aimed at developing a dialogue of cultures as a form of diplomacy of the 21st century, strengthening the humanistic foundations and social functions of contemporary art.
