Exhibition Natalia Bakut "Point of Return"

June 14 at 16.00 in the Estate V.P. Sukachev will open the exhibition "Point of Return" of the famous Irkutsk sculptor Natalia Bakut. The exposition is dedicated to the anniversary of the author and is of a retrospective nature - visitors will be able to see the main stages of the master’s forty-year career.

Perhaps the most famous work of Natalia Bakut is a sculpture of Babr, meeting Irkutsk citizens and visitors at the entrance to the 130th quarter. At the exhibition in the Estate of V.P. Sukachev, visitors will be able to get acquainted with other facets of her work. On the creative path of the sculptor, one can see the development in the use of various materials - from ceramic sculpture of the 80-90s. through tin miniatures and bronze to one of the most complex materials - hard stone, especially its transparent varieties (citrine, rauchtopaz and rock crystal). Work with them is subject to a very small circle of masters. It was professional work with natural hard stone and the teaching of this skill to students, successes and awards in international competitions that allowed specialists to call Irkutsk the third (after Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg) stone cutting art center in Russia. “Remembering, appreciating and preserving the historical past of jewelry and stone-cutting art, Natalya Bakut creates works that are distinguished by elegance and impeccable taste - each artist’s work is original and can become an adornment of any collection,” say art historians about her work.

The works of Natalia Bakut for the duration of the exhibition will also complement the exposition of jewelry and stone-cutting art “Masters and Collections”, which works on an ongoing basis in the Sukachev Manor.
