May 21 in Irkutsk in the Department of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum opened the exhibition "Independent format".
The exhibition features more than 100 works of various types and genres. Twenty-five masters from Irkutsk, Angarsk, Sayansk, Usolye-Sibirsky, Listvyanka take part in an unusual creative kaleidoscope: painting, drawing, sculpture, applied art, design, photography.
On the opening day, emotions, interest, curiosity, exclusivity and a creative breakthrough were mixed in the peculiar atmosphere of the Art Mix.
My impressions of the exhibition. What surprised and remembered most of all? An independent format - a non-standard, unique style, an individual approach to creativity - is the main difference of the exhibition.
At the entrance to the exhibition hall, the spectator is greeted by "Self-portrait" - the work of the artist VV Shcherbinin - a piercing, tenacious look from underneath, a bow of the head, inner pain and resentment… The subjects of the artist’s paintings are peculiar and differ in the emotional-psychological grotesque and liveliness of the created images (“Aspiration "," Self-portrait "," The Breath of Millennia "). In the landscapes, "Sleeping cat under the table" - serenity and peace. Life force, special energy - “Thistle”.
Shcherbinin V.V. Self portrait.
- Francois Peren
The style of writing is somewhat elusively close to the style of the Norwegian artist Edward Munch - the same "malleable", vague, leaving into the distance, like streams of smoke, planes. I remembered Munch’s famous picture “Scream”.
- Works by A. Tumanov on biblical themes - “Tobiah”, “Cain and Abel” - stand out in bright colors.
Two characters (Cain and Abel) are surrounded by a golden aura (they are brothers, according to legend), but between them there is a clear line. Cain - a symbol of dark forces depicted on a black background. The first symbolizes good, the other - the bearer of evil.
- A. Semenov invites the viewer to travel in the labyrinths of his paintings.
In my opinion, the play of lines, the combination of color planes, the sacredness of space, the artist’s perception of the world is a kind of symbiosis of the styles of P. Klee and Mondrian.
- Sidorchuk I. Life-affirming, vibrant still lifes create the effect of musical sound. Spectacular color transitions, flowing lines, graceful forms - this artist’s special “handwriting”.
- Ulankin G.I- “Buttercups”. Pickers ramson, lunch at a halt. The prose of life, the lack of bright colors, and at the same time, realism. Look how thoroughly, slowly fat is cut, vodka is poured, wild garlic is for a snack. Our, Siberian, native. I would like to try this fat, and this vodka, and this wild garlic.
"Independent format." The author and ideological inspirer of this unusual exhibition, its organizer and curator is a senior researcher at the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum, art critic Tamara Grigoryevna Dranitsa.
