Exhibition of Nikolai Alekseevich Rothko "Caravan of Time"

On September 11 at 16.00 at the Information-Educational and Exhibition Center of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (Lenin st., 103, second floor) the exhibition of Nikolai Alekseevich Rothko "The Caravan of Time" will open.

Now, looking at the works of Rothko, it is impossible to imagine that once this artist was completely different. He started with realistic drawings, but then there was a turn that determined the further search for his images, he used the right to do the opposite. From a huge selection of impressions received in life, he began to build and compose numerous versions, to create mysterious canvases where the real world acted as a subtle hint.

In the works of Nikolai Rothko, the themes of music, space, earth and the season turned out to be the most consonant with his interests. Possessing a rich imagination, Rothko began to resort to eccentric methods of constructing images, he correlates the real world with the world of his dreams or memories.

The freedom of imagination, the ability to diversify his artistic style, depending on the chosen theme, gives him the opportunity to work in different stylistic techniques.

If we arrange all the works in chronological order, we will see how the artist has changed, and we can notice that his creative path was difficult and contradictory, but in one thing he did not change himself - this is the desire to create. The exhibition will allow each viewer to plunge into the creative world of Nikolai Rothko and enjoy the unique color chords.
