Exhibition of Olga Soldatova "Spring Aircraft"

On March 8, an exhibition of a contemporary artist, designer Olga Soldatova will open in Proviant warehouses. Olga’s works return to the viewer the dream of flying, continuing the tradition of paintings created “with her head thrown back”.

Olga Soldatova is an architect by education, her inspiration is elements of the “great style” of the Soviet era - the time when a unique alloy of avant-garde, art deco and classicism arose. The works presented at the Spring Aircraft exhibition at the Museum of Moscow accurately and artistically reflect the artistic discoveries of Soviet monumentalism, one of which was the illusory "conquest of the sky."

The exhibition will feature watercolors, mosaics, panels, decorations. They show the artist’s love for a mosaic, typesetting image, which manifests itself in a wide range of materials - from emery and felt to smalt and stone.

The contrast of the weightlessness of flight and the emphasized gravity, brutality of the material in the works of Soldatova is a kind of experiment, a challenge. Olga’s work embodied a dream that conquers the forces of gravity, gives a person freedom and new, previously uncharacteristic, opportunities.

The exhibition is open from March 8 to 30.
