Exhibition "Victory" in the gallery FotoLoft

FotoLoft Gallery, together with XX Century Crocodile, presents the Victory exhibition in the drawings and cartoons of Crocodile magazine. The exhibition includes 50 illustrations of the war, published in the main Soviet satirical magazine "Crocodile". The exhibition is divided into seven themes: “Messages from the Front”, “Soldier’s Truth”, “Partisans and Life”, “Beat the Fascist!”, “Just Hitler”, “Crocodile in the War” and “Our Victory”.

An album that was specially released for the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory will also be presented to your attention. 160-page masterpiece, which contains the most memorable and piercing illustrations of the war, once published in the main Soviet satirical magazine "Crocodile".

Kukryniksy, Boris Efimov, Leonid Brodaty, Konstantin Eliseev, Mikhail Cheremnykh, Leonid Gench and other excellent artists painted the front and rear, soldiers and partisans, Hitler and fascists, war and victory. For each "chapter" there is an illustration of the main artist of "History through the eyes of a Crocodile. XX century ”by Svetlana Dorosheva.

Crocodile Magazine was founded in 1922. The magazine was published three times a month. The circulation reached 6, 5 million copies. The satire of the Crocodile was not limited to petty everyday topics - exposing bureaucrats, drunkards, bribe takers, hacks, dudes, as well as criticizing incompetent middle and lower level managers - but it touched on key problems of domestic and foreign policy - from the denunciations of Leon Trotsky, “spies” and “Enemies of the people” before the scourging of “West German revanchism,” “American imperialism and its satellites,” “colonialism,” NATO. Outstanding writers collaborated with Crocodile (Victor Ardov, Arkady Vasiliev, Mikhail Zoshchenko, Alexander Ivanov, Ilya Ilf and Evgeny Petrov, Felix Krivin, Boris Laskin, Samuel Marshak, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Sergey Mikhalkov, Lyudmila Petrushevskaya, Victoria Tokareva, etc.) and cartoonists (Eugene Vedernikov, Vladimir Galba, Boris Efimov, Kukryniksy, Ivan Semenov, Yuri Fedorov, etc.).

The exhibition will be held from April 15 to May 17, 2015.
