Exhibition of works by Nina Budyonny. Decorative art

At the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts (Moscow, Prechistenka, 19), an exhibition of works by correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Arts Nina Semenovna Budyonna opens. The exposition will comprise 15 decorative panels made in the author’s patchwork technique.

Nina Budennaya did not receive a professional art education. She is a writer and journalist, but it is worth noting that her specialization as a journalist was precisely fine art. Nina Semyonovna is the author of essays and short stories published in various collections and magazines. In addition, she published the book "Old Stories."

Artistic daughter of the legendary Marshal S.M. Budenny was carried away by buying a house in a village in the region of the Upper Volga lakes, not so far from the famous Seliger. In 2000, to decorate her house, Nina Semyonovna decided to purchase old Soviet-style carpets, but it turned out that they had already become a rarity, and then she had to make something similar herself.

The panels created by Nina Budyonnaya amaze the imagination. The figurative language of her works is difficult to interpret unambiguously: here you can see the traditions of popular popular print, and naive art, but in general it is a completely original, original technique.

One of the features of the works of Nina Budyonnaya is volumetric elements. For example, in one of her works she used the classic story “on halt” and portrayed a group of hunters. One of the men has "trophies" on their belts - soft toys-key chains, and these are very uncharacteristic "furry" animals - an elephant, a hedgehog and others…

Nina Budennaya mixes not only techniques and materials in her works, but also times. So, the eastern concubine on the carpet “Journey to Arzrum” reads the detective Alexandra Marinina, and the husband of Nina Semyonovna - the famous schedule Nikolai Ponomarev - is depicted in ancient Cossack clothes, but with “Arguments and Facts” in his hands. Another plot: son-in-law of Nina Semenovna Peter in the company of Turgenev and Nekrasov goes on a hunt. And in the neighborhood, at a rural feast, Mstislav Rostropovich plays the cello… These funny "inconsistencies" matched with undisguised irony, as well as bright colors, transfer the viewer to some other world - a joyful, bright, with an unusually festive atmosphere created by fantasy, taste and skillful hands of the author.

A whole world of images and curiosities, a paradoxical combination of fiction and reality, the use of original authorial techniques make Nina Budyonna’s work an extraordinary, deeply individual phenomenon.
