Exhibition of works by Zurab Tsereteli

The author of monumental compositions and monuments erected in many countries of the world, sculptural and pictorial cycles, the daring experimenter Zurab Tsereteli was able to combine literally all kinds, genres, and techniques of fine art with his creative searches. The picturesque cycle of works presented at the exhibition will acquaint the audience with one of the facets of the maestro’s work.

The creative concept of the master is based on the promotion of the ideals of humanism and universal values by means of art. The works of Zurab Tsereteli, in which love of man, ideas of good and peace are conveyed, always find a response in the soul of the viewer, open new depths in understanding life, human nature.

It is difficult to overestimate the role of art in the task of transforming the world for the better, and Zurab Konstantinovich Tsereteli undoubtedly contributed to this not only as the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, but also as a sculptor and citizen of the world. The charitable activities of the President of the Russian Academy of Arts have long been praised by such an authoritative international organization as the United Nations. His monument “Good conquers evil”, created from fragments of dismantled American and Soviet missiles Pershing-2 and SS-20, was installed at the United Nations headquarters in New York in 1990 and became a symbol of the end of the Cold War. In 2007, a bronze bust was opened in Geneva to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Sergio Vieira de Mello, who tragically died in Iraq.
