The watercolor school of Sergei Andriyaka continues the series of series “Masterpieces of Museum Collections”. October 20 at 17 o’clock in the Museum and Exhibition Complex will open the exhibition “Rembrandt and his followers. Western European and Russian graphics of the XVII - the first half of the XX centuries. ". Spectators will meet with the true masterpieces of museum collections from the Tambov Regional Art Gallery and the Tambov Regional Museum of Local Lore. The collection of graphic collections (etching, drawing and watercolor) in the amount of 236 objects clearly presents art lovers with unknown or forgotten pages of art by graphic artists from different countries and eras, and creates a panoramic picture of the development of this art form and its collecting in Russia.
The exhibition presents preparatory drawings for large altar compositions by Italian artists Annibale Carracci, Giovanni F. Gverchino and Solomon Corrodi. Of great interest are the watercolors of the little-known nineteenth-century master La Pira, capturing Italian views, as well as the full-bodied drawings of the famous "little Dutch" - J. van Goyen, A. van Ostade. The exhibition will also introduce Rembrandt etchings of various subjects. In the section of Russian graphics, attention is drawn to the works of such famous masters as: L. S. Bakst, K. F. Bogaevsky, V. E. Borisov-Musatov, A. M. Vasnetsov, V. V. Vereshchagin, V. E. Makovsky, F. A. Malyavin, A. O. Orlovsky, A. P. Ostroumov-Lebedev, V. D. Polenov, I. E. Repin, A. K. Savrasov, Z. E. Serebryakova, V. A. Serov, I.I.Shishkin. The names of artists associated with the Tambov region deserve special mention: S. G. Arkhipov, A. M. Gerasimov, M. V. Dobuzhinsky, K. N. Cardo-Sysoev, E. E. Lansere, A. P. Ryabushkin, V A. Schuko and others.
Prior to the October Revolution, the art collections of Count Vorontsov, Count P. S. Stroganov, legal scholar, B. N. Chicherin, as well as a graphic collection ("cabinet of engravings") by the Zemstvo leader, historiographer and bibliophile L. A. Voeikov were famous in the Tambov province. Examples of graphic art were found in each of the mentioned collections, but the true admirers and connoisseurs of it were the natives of the Tambov province L. A. Voeikov and B. N. Chicherin. forty years, giving preference for an engraved portrait, among which there were real unique ones, preserved in two or three copies. Another Tambov collector, B. N.
