Exhibition of Sergei Grigoriev "PRO_Books"

November 28 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art opens the exhibition "PRO_BOOKS" of the famous Irkutsk graphic artist Sergei Grigoriev. The exposition presents the best works of the author (book graphics, illustrations, print design and photographs), created in different years.

Sergey Grigoriev - painter, graphic artist, designer, photographer, member of the Union of Artists of Russia (since 1994) - was born in 1946 in the village of. Kadala of the Chita Region, graduated from the Irkutsk Art College in 1976. Since 1992, he taught at the Irkutsk Art School. Winner of the Prize of St. Innocent, a participant in city, regional, zonal, national and international exhibitions.

Being a talented book artist, he designed over 100 editions of fiction, historical, and special literature. Grigoriev approaches the design of the book very responsibly: creates illustrations, photographs, thinks over the general style of the publication. In this case, the artist tries to emphasize the intent of the author of the book, not giving the image the main role. Publications issued by Sergei Grigoryev are known to the reader. This is a series for children “We live around Baikal”, dedicated to the peoples of the Baikal region, a series of poetic books “Bark of poets”, a series of biographical books “Names of Siberia” and much more.

The exhibition "PRO_BOOKS" will open on November 28 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Art Museum (23 Karl Marx St.) and will be open until January 12, 2020. Entrance to the opening is free.
