Exhibition of Sergei and Maxim Sidorenko "And the world is beautiful, as always!"

December 08, 2017 at 15.00 in the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (Lenin St. 103, second floor) the official opening of the exhibition of honored artists of Russia brothers Sergey and Maxim Sidorenko "And the world is beautiful, as always!"

The paintings of Sergei and Maxim Sidorenko are permeated with love of life… Their painting is light, mobile, with a smeared texture, pasty, free, and at the same time, energetic and expressive. Their main task is to convey the diversity of beauty in the natural world surrounding man, therefore, you will not find melancholy and saddening stories here. It seems that both painters set as their goal to see and convey to the viewer all the multicoloredness of the transmitted moment.

The central place in the painting of the Sidorenko brothers is occupied by landscapes. Working exclusively in the open air, artists create works that are surprisingly harmonious in their compositional solution. The range of subjects is simple and at the same time polyphonic: southern terraces, sea bays, Venetian views, Crimean corners, urban motifs and Russian open spaces. I want to look at any of the paintings endlessly, revealing more and more new faces in it.

Not the last place in the artistic activity of the Sidorenko brothers is still the genre of still life. Painters revived this type of fine art, appreciated the virtues of full-scale production, gave it new qualities and made it more perfect. Still lifes by Sergei and Maxim ceased to be dead and motionless. They acquired their inner life, their history, their intrigue and their style. May lilac, autumn chrysanthemums, roses, field inflorescences… Lively, fresh, fragrant. Artists endowed the flowers with the aroma and color that they feel and love. Therefore, their bouquets do not fade. Everything that the Sidorenko brothers write in still lifes is easily recognizable and familiar at the level of the objective world that they reproduce in their paintings. This is the world of things around us. Books, vases, flowers, fruits… We need them now and having everyday value, they are warmed by the poetry of painters. Sergey and Maxim’s still lifes are multi-component, majestic and spectacular. These are, in a way, hymns to the sensual beauty of everyday things.

Artists are young and energetic, talented and popular. They write and talk about them. Their paintings are recognizable and stylish.

Sidorenko brothers were born in the city of Simferopol. Their creative and professional development took place in parallel. Both received primary art education at the Crimean Art College named after N. S. Samokish, both graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute. V.I. Surikova. After graduation, Sidorenko is actively engaged in creative work, participating in Moscow, regional, All-Russian and foreign exhibitions, systematically making creative trips, and conducting joint solo exhibitions. In 1993, both painters joined the Creative Union of Russian Artists. In 2009, the Sidorenko brothers were awarded the title of Honored Artists of Russia.

Since 2009, Sergei Sidorenko has been working as an assistant professor at the Moscow State University of Painting. Since 2009, he is a member of the Union of Artists of the Moscow Region. Since 2010, he is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. He was awarded the silver (2007) and the Golden Medals of the TSHR (2008). He was awarded the diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts (2009). Awarded by the appreciation of the Russian Academy of Arts (2015)

Since 2009, Maxim Sidorenko has been working as an assistant professor at the Moscow State Academic Department of Painting. Since 2009, he is a member of the Union of Artists of the Moscow Region. Since 2010, he is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Awarded the title of Associate Professor (VAK). He was awarded the Bronze (2006), Silver (2007) and Golden Medals of the TSHR (2008). He was awarded the diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts (2009). Awarded with gratitude to the Russian Academy of Arts (2015).
