For the first time, residents of Novosibirsk will see works by Western Europe from the collection of the Irkutsk Art Museum. December 20 in the Novosibirsk State Art Museum opens the exhibition "Masterpieces of European Masters XVII - early XX century" from the collection of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V. P. Sukachev.
The exhibition brings together 44 paintings and graphic works of artists from the Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, gives an idea of the styles, schools and the plot variety of Western European art of the XVII - beginning of the XX century. Works of renowned masters - Govert Flink, Constant Trion, Narcisso Diaz de La Peña, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro and Federico Zandomenegh - coexist with beautiful canvases of little-known, but equally talented painters.
The earliest canvases date back to the 17th century, the period of rapid development of national art schools in Europe. Thus, the most striking example of the landscape of this time is the work of the landscape with the herd of the great Rembrandt van Rein-Govert Flink. The latest in painting time is the “Portrait of a Woman” by Italian Giuseppe Mascarini, dated 1907.
Another work from the beginning of the twentieth century is considered to be a real gem of the collection of the Irkutsk Art Museum - this is a small sketch “The Seagulls. Thames, Parliament ”by Claude Monet, in which the velvety pictorial texture of pastels is likened to fine and harmoniously woven decorative fabric.
All the works presented at the exhibition rarely leave the Irkutsk Art Museum and for the first time in such a composition are offered to the attention of the residents of Novosibirsk. The exhibition will work in the Novosibirsk State Art Museum until March 17, 2019, after which all works will return to Irkutsk.
