This project is the debut of the young artist Vyacheslav Ereshchuk in the Fine Art Gallery. The project consists of two parts: the Harvest itself and the Battle of Heroes with the Amazons.
1. The harvest. In this part, the artist presents monochrome paintings - scarlet or the color of young greenery, charcoal drawings on canvas and sculpture. All works depict sunflowers with bowed heads, all combine magnificent academic painting with modern meanings. The works are so beautiful that it seems that the artist has set out to translate the concept of beauty from the category of subjective into a universal phenomenon. The author himself considers the series of his sunflowers not without irony as a salon story without the negative attitude inherent in postmodernism. He interprets his project as an ironic anti-modern manifesto, addressed to the manifesto of modernists - the cubo-futuristic opera “Victory over the Sun”, where its authors declared the victory of ideology over plastic.
It seems to us that the ideas of the Glory Ereshchuk project are alternative not only to the modernists of the beginning of the last century. Considering the sunflower as a kind of "meme", you involuntarily build a sequence - Van Gogh - Kiefer - Ereshchuk. The famous installation of the postmodernist A. Kiefer “Sunflowers” consists of blackened, scorched, broken flowers sticking out among the ashes and dust of a lifeless earth. They are opposed by sincerity, irony, creative plastic beauty, romanticism in the project of Ereshchuk. These properties of the young author’s creativity are characteristic of metamodern - a new philosophy in the art of the generation born in the 80s and later and grown up already on the Internet and new means of communication
2. "The Battle of Heroes with the Amazons." In this part, the author acts as a body artist. Moreover, all the words about the plastic perfection of his work are also true here. The physicality of the heroes of V. Ereshchuk involuntarily causes an allusion to the characters of Rubens. According to the artist, the plots of his works in this part, on the one hand, reflect his ironic reflection on gender relations and their media, feminism, harassment and other things, and on the other, this is a sincere story about what excites him. The artist creates gender mythology by placing his characters in conditional situations typical of role-playing games or sitcoms, and giving them a vivid theatricality.
All the author’s works in this series resemble antique friezes in their structure, in essence they can be compiled into one piece and presented as a frieze of some antique portico of some ancient building. There are other works - monochrome, depicting the strange struggle of men and women with a mysterious shadow.
So, let’s digress from different isms. The project of the artist Vyacheslav Ereshchuk is an ode to beauty, plastic perfection, aesthetics in an artistic context, sincerity and romanticism, and this is a new philosophy of the young generation of artists.
