Exhibition of Soviet art "The Time of Our Fathers"

Big names, familiar and little known to the general public, works from the richest funds of the Irkutsk Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev will be represented at the exhibition of Soviet art “The Time of Our Fathers”. The opening will take place on September 30, 2015 in the main building of the museum on Lenin, 5.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alexei Dementievich Fatyanov, the legendary director of the Irkutsk Art Museum, who over the years of his work has collected a rich collection of works by famous metropolitan artists. Already in the first years of his leadership, Aleksey Dementyevich showed himself to be an outstanding, active young director: in 1948-1949 he collected as many works of art on business trips as no other director of the country’s art museum managed to collect, about 2000 units (“two whole cars ", In his own expression). Gradually, over the years of his leadership, the museum’s collection increased from 3 thousand works to 12 thousand.

The exhibition will feature more than 100 paintings by such first-class brush masters as: I.E. Grabar, A.A. Deineka, P.P. Konchalovsky, A.V. Kuprin, S.V. Malyutin, B.M. Nemensky, A.A. Osmerkin, A.A. Plastov, N.M. Romadin, M.S. Saryan, Tkachev brothers, S.A. Chuykov, K.F. Yuon. In addition, the works of sculptors will be exhibited, including: M.K. Anikushin, E.F. Belashova, I.D. Brodsky, V.A. Vatagin, A.S. Golubkina, S.T. Konenkov, S.D. Lebedeva A.T. Matveev and others.
