Exhibition "Traditions" of the artists of the Moscow Printamp Association

February 4 at 17.00 at the Academy of Watercolors and Fine Arts will host the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Traditions", which presents the work of artists of the association "Moscow print".

Moscow printmaking, as an original school, arose at the beginning of the twentieth century. A whole galaxy of creators of Moscow engraving went down in the history of Russian art. Among them was Ignatius Nivinsky, the founder of the Moscow etching school. Subsequently, his house among Moscow artists was called the “Nivinsky Studio”, in it worked I. Golitsin, G. Zakharov, S. Theis, V. Pavlov, E. Matsievsky, L. Antonova, N. Devisheva.

Traditions link the past, present and future into a single thread. Thanks to this unity, the work of contemporary artists of the Moscow Print is inextricably linked with the traditions of Russian printed graphics.

The exposition of the new exhibition includes works by artists of the association, various in styles and techniques, graduates of leading art universities, participants in Moscow, Russian and international exhibitions, whose works are in museum collections, galleries, private collections in Russia and abroad.

The call of Mikhail Konovalov, the current Executive Director at the Moscow Prints Department, is a woodcut (woodcut).

Vladimir Shcherbinin - a member of the Moscow Union of Artists - works in the technique of etching and is engaged in easel painting.

Alexander Vetrov is an Honored Artist of Russia, known as an etching master and a participant in more than 100 art exhibitions in Russia and abroad.

Vladimir Vorobyov is an Honored Artist of Russia, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, whose favorite subject of creativity is the beauty of his native land.

Alexander Kulemin, Honored Artist of Russia, member of the Moscow Union of Artists and the Union of Journalists, designs books and albums, for which he has repeatedly received prestigious awards at Russian and international competitions.

Olga Bogomolova, a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, a teacher at the Moscow Printing Institute, prefers monotype technique in her work.

Sergey Gonkov - member of the Moscow Union of Artists, member of the board of the Moscow Printamp branch of the Association of Graphic Artists of the Moscow Union of Artists; works in easel painting and graphics, is the author of illustrations for historical books and tales of E. Uspensky.

The Traditions exhibition is a continuation of the collaboration that began several years ago, when the artists of the association decided to transfer the I. Nivinsky Foundation to the Academy: a collection of paintings and graphic works, archival materials, photographs, and pieces of furniture. Now within the walls of the Academy there is a functioning memorial museum of I. I. Nivinsky, which acquaints visitors with the main landmarks of the creative path and the multifaceted art of the master.

The exhibition will be held from February 4 to March 13 in the Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts (3rd floor) at 15 Akademika Varga Street.
