Exhibition "Teachers and Students:
20 Years of Commonwealth"

From April 1 at the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karl Marx str., 23) the exhibition "Teachers and Students: 20 Years of Commonwealth", dedicated to the anniversary of the Department of Fine Arts and Methods of the Pedagogical Institute of Irkutsk State University, starts its work. The exposition includes more than 70 objects of painting, graphics and arts and crafts of teachers, graduates and students.

The exhibition demonstrates the variety of artistic techniques studied at the department: watercolor and oil painting, graphics, batik, hand weaving, ceramics. Students, alumni and teachers work in different manners, addressing small and large forms.

The Department of Fine Arts and Methods was opened in 2001. It was founded by the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Sergeevich Shipitsyn - a master with his own creative style. He managed to form a team of talented teachers and artists. The exhibition presents works by Alexander Shipitsyn himself and other teachers: Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Sergei Kazantsev, Nikolai Sokolov, Anastasia Khalipova. Here you can also see the works of Shipitsyn’s students - Svetlana Uvarova, Valentina Derezhanova, Nadezhda Rusinova, Artem Pisarev. They teach at the department and continue the work of their teacher.
