From June 11 to August 25, 2019 in the St. Petersburg State Theater Library will open an exhibition of works by the artist Valery Polunovsky "Pictures for the theater."
Valery Isaakovich Polunovsky graduated in 1988 from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography (LGITMiK), the workshop of Gennady Petrovich Sotnikov. Here, for nearly thirty years, he has been teaching and directing the artists’ studio.
Valery Isaakovich designed over one hundred performances in theaters in Russia, Ukraine, Finland, Lithuania, and Estonia. He worked as the chief artist of the theater of operetta in Krasnoyarsk and in the Novgorod Drama Theater. Currently, he is the chief artist of the Baltic Fleet Theater.
On an ongoing basis, collaborates with the Little Dramatic Theater of Lev Ehrenburg. He is the author of the scenery for the performances "At the bottom", "U", "Ivanov", "Three Sisters", marked by awards of many theater festivals.
Nominee for the "Golden Mask" for the play Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov "Vassa Zheleznova."
Among the most significant works: "Brideless" in the Moscow Theater. Mayakovsky, "Duck Hunt" in the Russian Drama Theater of Tallinn, "Threepenny Opera" and "Notes from the Dead House" in the Theater. Lunacharsky (Kemerovo).
