Exhibition of the Honored Artist of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic Anatoly A. Kholopov

The solo exhibition of Anatoly Alexandrovich Kholopov, Honored Artist of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, is a small but striking part of his work in the field of poster and printing design for more than 50 years of creativity.

A special place in the artist’s work is occupied by work on a political, exhibition and spectacular poster. Trips to the houses of creativity and work with the masters of the Soviet poster enriched the creative potential of the artist and influenced his further professional level. It was the skill of Anatoly Alexandrovich Kholopov in the field of poster art that was the center-forming artistic core in the exposition presented by the artist.

The exhibition presents works of different years, starting in 1980.

The exhibition is held within the framework of the project of the Creative Union of Artists of the Republic of Bashkortostan PORAH and TLC Experimental Creative Workshop in Ufa, where he is one of the curators of the project and a member of the TLC RB Art Council.

Kholopov Anatoly Alexandrovich was born in Ufa on February 24, 1943. In 1962 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Art College. After serving in the army in 1965, he began working in the field of printing design. Since 1966 he has been working at the Bashkir Book Publishing House as a book artist.

The main activity of the artist is related to book design, and the poster. Of particular interest to him is the work with font compositions and photography. Since 1966, in the Bashkir Book Publishing House, he has issued more than 300 publications of fiction, political mass media and technical literature.

In the 70s, he worked on creating albums on the history and ethnography of the Bashkir region, the nature of the mountain Urals and its marvelous landscapes, travels a lot and takes pictures. As a result of these trips, the ideas of the Bashkir Costume photo album and the eponymous exhibition in the halls of the Museum of Ethnography of the Peoples of the USSR in Leningrad, where he was the main artist of the exposition, were born.

Since 2002, lives and works in Sergiev Posad.
