An exhibition dedicated to the 80th birthday of Ildar Zaripov (1939-2012) will be held at the National Art Gallery of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan, the Kremlin, the Khazine Museum Complex, 3rd entrance).
Ildar Kasimovich Zaripov was born on November 13, 1939 in Kazan. After graduating from the Kazan Art College in 1961, he entered the Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. He specialized in the workshop of easel painting under the guidance of People’s Artist of the USSR D.K. Mochalsky. After graduation, he entered the creative workshop of G. M. Korzhev.
Already the first independent steps of the artist after graduating from graduate school were marked by success. In 1970, the Moscow commission of the All-Union Exhibition of Artists of the National Republics of the USSR unanimously recognized the painting "House" as highly artistic. The work was rated as the best in transmitting national flavor.
In 1976, the artist was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the TASSR. In 1983 I.K. Zaripov received the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. In 1994, the artist was awarded the title of Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after G. Tukay. In 1996, he was awarded the silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. In 2002, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, I. Zaripov was awarded the title "People’s Artist of Russia".
The works of Ildar Zaripov are in the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, the Kiev Art Gallery, the art museums of Taganrog, Chita, Petrozavodsk, Kherson, the national collections of Italy, Germany, England, the USA, etc.
Over the years of creativity, Ildar Zaripov had many different periods. Years of enthusiasm for the Tatar life, the village; hobbies with a thematic picture, civil war, the history of our great country; the time when he worked stubbornly on paintings inspired by the poetry of Pushkin and Tukay; the period when he devoted a number of his paintings to the memory of extraordinary, interesting creative personalities - Deineki, Plastov, Shukshin, Ruslanova. It was a rush, a need of his soul. The artist never painted for the needs of the day, but in some surprising way they all turned out to be extremely modern!
Ildar Zaripov’s paintings contain a special space, as if continuing in our imagination, time is flowing in them, filled with good deeds, and a peculiar, emotionally saturated atmosphere of spiritual life reaches the viewer.
Generosity of the soul, kindness, a major perception of reality, faith in the triumph of a good start live, are present in almost all of his works, even the most dramatic content. “A person must learn to be an artist from life” - these words said by the painter characterize his attitude to the phenomena of life.
For big artists, style is always an expression of their inner essence. Internally organic, decorative is the language of the work of Ildar Zaripov. He loves the warm color of ripe bread, the midday summer sun, the color of a calm or anxious sky. In white, red and blue shawls and women’s dresses - the same sonority of color, turning into a kind of color music. In the decorativeness of Zaripov’s paintings, there is an echo of the Tatar applied art, the artistic traditions of the people. In each work - a marvelous glow, flickering of colors, vibrant flashes and a rainbow, northern lights and lightning - a special, only his inherent technique. Each smear in the eyes breathes, changes color, shimmers, imperceptibly passes into another. Pictures-memories, pictures-dreams, pictures-fantasies…
The retrospective exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, which opens, presents the iconic works of Ildar Kasimovich Zaripov from the collection of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, which made up the golden fund of Tatarstan painting.
