The exhibition presents thirty works, mostly large-sized sculptures, created in 2006–2019. Porcelain sculpture requires from its creator talent as a sculptor performing a completed form of porcelain mass, and a painter who is able to choose the right colors at all stages of the burning of the future work. Having mastered a complex technology that has hardly changed over the past 300 years, Galina Dulkina performs casting, glazing, painting, firing, gilding and other necessary processes in her workshop. The works of Galina - a young porcelain sculptor - have long been in the collections of the world famous ballet soloist Nikolai Tsiskaridze, maestro Yuri Temirkanov, the head of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, director of the AZ Museum Natalia Opaleva, the Marc Chagall Museum, world recognized collectors Morris Baruish, Boris Friedman, Konstantin Ernst, Andrey Cheglakov and in other prominent collections.
Cosmos, rock music, circus are now the main themes of the work of the porcelain sculptor.
At the exhibition for the first time, the entire cycle of works “We will hear the flight of all planets” is exhibited about Cosmos and Man. The cycle was highly appreciated by Academician M. Ya. Marov, a student and associate of the founder of cosmonautics Academician M. V. Keldysh, a native of Latvia. Academician Marov sent a greeting to Latvia on the occasion of the exhibition. All sculptures from the Rock Musicians series will be on display in Riga. The author’s versions of the series are presented in the collection of French collector Maurice Bariush, who possessed the world’s best private collection of Russian porcelain and watercolor (a significant part of this collection is now in the State Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg)).
Galina’s solo exhibitions were held at status sites in Moscow (Moscow State Museum “House of Burganov”, Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, Central House of Artists), Berlin, Vilnius, Vitebsk (Mark Shagal Museum). The sculptures of Galina were selected by an eminent jury to participate in the Porcelain Biennale in Meissen, in the Albrechtsburg castle. It was in this castle that European porcelain was created three hundred years ago. Now Riga art lovers will be able to see firsthand the work of a famous porcelain artist.
