I recommend reviewing my notes in the margins; they are helpful because they are based on many years of translation experience, and therefore on an understanding of proper Russian language. During Soviet times, requirements for translators were extremely strict, unlike the laxness and lack of precision in speech and writing today.

The right panel mirrors this vertical structure, but introduces a different set of characters and a subtly altered setting. Here we see a woman in elaborate attire, including a crown and veil, seated before a stone formation. Several other figures surround her: children, and another adult figure standing behind the central woman. The landscape here is denser, with trees obscuring much of the background.
The color palette is restrained, dominated by dark browns and greens contrasted against lighter tones in the clothing and sky. A sense of formality pervades both panels; the figures are posed stiffly, their gazes directed downwards or towards each other. The lighting appears to be diffused, creating a soft atmosphere that emphasizes the solemnity of the scene.
Subtleties within the imagery suggest layers of meaning beyond a straightforward narrative depiction. The act of receiving in the left panel could symbolize acceptance of faith or authority. The woman’s regal attire and position on the right might indicate her status as a patron, an abbess, or perhaps even a representation of divine grace. The presence of children in both panels hints at themes of lineage, inheritance, or the transmission of values across generations. The deliberate symmetry between the two sides suggests a balance or parallel between these actions and individuals, inviting contemplation on their interconnectedness within a larger spiritual framework.
