Its strange that he didnt depict the bagel and Eve as male figures. That would have been in line with his usual style.
You cannot comment Why?
The background is divided into distinct horizontal bands. Above the figures, a deep blue expanse is punctuated by scattered golden stars. Below them lies a band of orange, transitioning into a lower zone depicting what seems to be water, indicated by undulating lines and subtle color variations. A decorative border runs along the bottom edge, composed of repeating floral motifs and geometric patterns.
The artist’s use of line is notable; figures and foliage are delineated with precise contours, creating a sense of stylized realism rather than naturalism. The skin tones of the figures exhibit a reddish hue, which contrasts with the cool blues and oranges of the surrounding environment. This color choice may be intended to emphasize their physicality or perhaps allude to a symbolic meaning related to vitality or passion.
The overall effect is one of deliberate order and symbolism. The rigid structure and repetitive patterns suggest an artificiality, hinting at a constructed reality rather than a direct representation of nature. The figures’ gesture, combined with the celestial orb they hold, implies themes of creation, enlightenment, or perhaps a cyclical process involving exchange and renewal. The decorative elements surrounding them reinforce this sense of ritualistic significance, elevating the scene beyond a simple depiction of human forms.
