THE STORY OF CHRIST
(a prose poem)
The story of Jesuss path is woven from the diamonds of the sky. A quiet hut, a mother by the door, Joseph at his workbench, and the sweet-sweet smell of sawdust, a drowsy-warm aroma of childhood... A Roman soldier walks down the street...
Did Jesuss path lead to the East, towards the luminous abyss of ancient, powerful, closed monasteries? Did they imbue the young Jesus with wisdom – all the wisdom accumulated over centuries, so that he could surpass it, penetrate it with his soul, and leave it far behind? The golden threads of Gospel stories offer only a framework, thin-thin, and words – so vast that no human heart was ever able to contain them...
Shells mixed with sand crunch underfoot, empty pearlescent shells. And someone, seeing the idle hands of muscular fishermen, creates a magical catch, promising further capture of souls...
The tents of Gospel parables open their doors to all who wish, but require transformation – it is easy to change, to become something else, bathed in light... But where is that light? We dont see it...
Simply Jesus, a man with a radiant purity of karma, cultivates within himself a macrocrystal of Christ, an enormous, otherworldly flower of divinity. In the nectar of divine qualities, human traits dissolve, and angel-thoughts will serve one who has accomplished this feat...
The light dome of Christ expands over us for twenty centuries, expanding, shining, in the twenty-first – magical, mystical, promising something unknown...

The artist employed a restricted palette dominated by somber tones: deep browns, blacks, and grays are prevalent, punctuated by the pallid flesh tones of the figure. The use of chiaroscuro is pronounced; strong contrasts between light and dark heighten the emotional intensity and create a sense of theatricality. Light seems to emanate from an unseen source, illuminating the body while leaving much of the background shrouded in obscurity.
Below the cross, a landscape unfolds – a sparsely populated scene with buildings nestled amongst rolling hills. The perspective is somewhat flattened, contributing to the overall feeling of compression and emphasizing the figure’s isolation. A few indistinct figures are visible in the distance, seemingly observing the event from afar.
The painting conveys a profound sense of pathos and suffering. The starkness of the setting and the dramatic lighting contribute to an atmosphere of solemnity and despair. The bodys vulnerability is emphasized by its exposed state and the evident physical trauma it bears. The placard above serves as a reminder of the narrative context, though its obscured nature adds a layer of ambiguity.
Subtly, there’s a sense of detachment in the landscape below; the world continues despite the central tragedy unfolding. This juxtaposition underscores the scale of the suffering and invites contemplation on themes of sacrifice, faith, and human endurance. The overall effect is one of intense emotional weight, achieved through skillful manipulation of light, shadow, and composition.
