To the far left, a trio of cherubs with small, dark wings are depicted in motion; one appears to be falling or tumbling downwards, illustrating the struggle against ignorance. Below and to the left of the main figures, a male figure, possibly a personification of Ignorance, is shown in a defeated pose, clothed in draped green and purple fabrics, with a floral crown askew and his face buried in his hands, conveying despair and subjugation.
To the right and behind Nobility, a cherub or putto peeks out from behind a draped brown cloak, adding a touch of childlike innocence and grandeur. Other smaller cherubs are scattered across the clouds, some with dark, bat-like wings, reinforcing the theme of chaotic ignorance being overcome.
