Leonardo, that says it all.
Cant you see that this isnt Leonardo?
Incorrect lighting – there are a lot of reflections, which looks strange given the quality.
How lovely!
Its bad. Theres nothing good about it.
Everything is good and the image quality is excellent, but theres not much information about the painting, even just the year it was created!
A magnificent artist, a beautiful and inspiring painting!
I really like this painting. I think its a genuine Leonardo da Vinci. There is no doubt about the high level of skill demonstrated by the creator of this painting.
This painting is my guardian angel.
This is a great painting by a master artist.
This is simply a masterpiece of the Renaissance era!
Good resource. I found it by chance. Im adding it to my Favorites. I would like a search button.
I saw this painting at the Hermitage Museum; it was simply a marvel!
The painting is good, but the description is really lacking.
A beautiful picture, I like it! ) ))))

I completely disagree with Svetlana. The painting is very good. All the inaccuracies mentioned have been pointed out, but the scene of a mother breastfeeding her baby is depicted beautifully and the picture is excellent.
I imagine how shocked the contemporaries of the painting must have been, and even in our modern age, it is so beautiful and inspiring. It was as if a divine hand guided Leonardos brush.
We should be proud that this masterpiece is preserved in OUR country!
I remember this painting as long as I can remember myself. I probably looked at some reproduction of good quality, bright and large; and even now it evokes a feeling of poignant sadness and profound happiness, just like when I was a child.
Leonardo da Vincis painting is immediately recognizable.
According to the locksmith Sasha (see comment on the painting Black Square), this painting is dressed in a literary coat. However, I cant quite see that coat. This painting is the work of a painter of the highest caliber, and theres no denying it. As for Black Square, it was a carefully planned scheme to stir up public debate and thus draw attention to his insignificant person.
What a wonderful painting. I first saw it in childhood. There was a reproduction of it in one of the old magazines. I still remember flipping through the magazine over and over again, searching for that page to look at it once more. I must have been around 5 or 6 years old, and I didnt know who Leonardo da Vinci was or what masterpieces he created, but somehow I couldnt take my eyes off it. It evoked an incredible feeling of tenderness and quiet joy in me back then. And not much has changed since then.
You cannot comment Why?
The painting carries several subtexts. The act of breastfeeding is a powerful symbol of maternal love, nourishment, and the divine connection between mother and child. The Madonnas gentle expression and the babys engaged feeding highlight the tender and intimate relationship between them. The inclusion of the goldfinch, a small bird clutched by the baby, is a common symbol in Renaissance art, often representing the Passion of Christ due to its association with thorns (as they are said to eat them). The windows opening to a distant landscape can be interpreted as a spiritual or heavenly realm, suggesting the divine nature of the child and the earthly setting contrasting with the spiritual world. The overall mood is one of peace, intimacy, and divine grace, typical of Renaissance depictions of the Madonna and Child.
