JAPANESE HOUSE
A house that has absorbed politeness.
Walls made of paper.
The entire house is like yesterday.
Disappear, changes!
The rock garden offers us
A complex system.
Who truly understands
The given theme?
The rock garden is like an island of meaning,
Given in miniature.
Meaning is not afraid of numbers,
Nor war, nor storms
That surround it.
The house is small and cozy.
If Im honest, a human is
A round zero in the world.
But humility and gentleness
Mean a lot in life.
And a lotus has bloomed in the soul,
Because passions are deceptive.
You cannot comment Why?
To the left of the warrior, a man leans over a small, ornate red table, diligently writing with a brush. He too is adorned in armor, though it appears less formal than that of the standing figure. The artist has emphasized the act of writing through his posture and the focused expression on his face. A large sickle hangs above him, seemingly suspended from the upper edge of the composition; its presence introduces an element of potential threat or symbolic weight.
The background is rendered in a stylized manner, with snow-covered ground and bare branches suggesting a winter landscape. The color palette is dominated by reds, blues, and whites, contributing to a sense of formality and perhaps even austerity.
Subtleties within the scene suggest a commentary on power and duty. The juxtaposition of the warrior’s rigid stance and the writers concentrated effort implies a relationship between military strength and intellectual labor – perhaps suggesting that decrees are drafted before they are enforced, or that authority requires both force and justification. The sickle above the writer could symbolize the potential consequences of his words, hinting at the power inherent in written communication. The snowy landscape might represent a period of hardship or transition, adding another layer to the narratives complexity. Overall, the work conveys a sense of solemnity and controlled tension, characteristic of depictions of authority within Japanese artistic traditions.
