Below the large circular form, a crescent moon shape appears, colored in yellow and outlined by a dark blue band. This lunar element seems to partially obscure a more complex arrangement of rectangular forms that occupy the lower half of the painting. These rectangles are delineated by thick lines and filled with alternating blocks of red, green, white, and blue, creating a pattern reminiscent of heraldic shields or decorative textiles. A central cross shape is integrated into this lower section, its arms colored in black and outlined in white. Within the cross’s center sits the numeral “4”.
The artists use of numerals – 8, 9, and 4 – introduces an element of numerical significance that resists straightforward interpretation. They might function as symbolic markers within a personal or esoteric system, or perhaps allude to broader concepts related to cycles, completion (8), progression (9), and foundation (4). The juxtaposition of these numbers with the celestial imagery of the moon and eye suggests a connection between earthly existence and cosmic forces.
The overall effect is one of controlled chaos; while the forms are clearly defined, their arrangement feels deliberately disorienting. The limited color palette – primarily red, yellow, blue, green, white, and black – contributes to this sense of intensity and visual weight. The painting’s structure suggests a layered system of meaning, inviting prolonged contemplation rather than immediate comprehension. It is likely intended as an exploration of symbolic language and the interplay between abstract forms and numerical representation.
