I admire Leonid Afremov.
In fact, I even have a poem dedicated to him.

You cannot comment Why?
The artist employed thick brushstrokes to create a palpable texture throughout the composition. This technique isnt merely decorative; it contributes significantly to the overall luminosity and dynamism. The sky, rendered in swirling blues and purples, appears almost turbulent, contrasting with the relative stillness of the street below. The trees lining the avenue are skeletal, their branches reaching upwards like dark calligraphy against this vibrant backdrop.
Two figures, seemingly a couple, are depicted walking along the street, partially obscured by the reflections on the wet surface. Their presence introduces a human element into the otherwise abstract and atmospheric scene. The color palette is intensely saturated; oranges, yellows, blues, and purples clash and harmonize simultaneously, creating an emotional intensity that transcends simple representation.
The subtexts within this painting suggest a sense of romantic longing or perhaps melancholic contemplation. The vibrant colors could symbolize joy or excitement, while the skeletal trees and the solitary figures evoke feelings of isolation or introspection. The reflections on the wet pavement create a distorted reality, hinting at the subjective nature of perception and memory. The overall effect is one of heightened emotionality, where the mundane act of walking down a street becomes imbued with symbolic weight. It’s a scene that feels both familiar and dreamlike, inviting the viewer to project their own experiences onto its surface.
