The painting Swan depicts a large, fluffy white swan in profile, its body curved and its neck bent downwards. The swans plumage is rendered in shades of white, pale blue, and grey, with visible brushstrokes creating a textured, almost feathery effect. Its eye is small and dark, and its beak is a pale color.
The swan is set against a dark, almost black background, which is rendered with rough, indistinct strokes that suggest foliage or shadows. At the top of the painting, a band of vibrant, fiery orange and red is visible, hinting at a sunset or sunrise, or perhaps a bush with autumn leaves. This bright, almost aggressive color contrasts sharply with the muted tones of the swan and the dark background.
