The painting Saint Cecilia depicts a serene garden scene overlooking a harbor. In the foreground, two angelic figures play violins, their eyes closed in concentration and their music seemingly filling the air. One of the figures has a feathery wing to her left, reinforcing her angelic nature.
To the right, a young woman, presumably St. Cecilia, rests in a chair. She is dressed in a voluminous white gown with purple embroidered sleeves. Her eyes are closed, and her head is tilted back, suggesting deep meditation or perhaps sleep. An open book lies on her lap, adorned with a red rose. The setting is lush with roses and other flowers, and in the background, sailboats are visible in a calm harbor, with a fortress-like structure on the right. The sky is a soft twilight hue.
