Three stages of a relationship are depicted: the first is calm and beautiful, representing the dawn of love; the second is bold and naked, with an assertive gaze symbolizing passionate desire around the midpoint of the relationship; and finally, an old woman in a black dress, like death, symbolizes the death of the relationship itself – the fading of love. Its a very symbolic and powerful painting!
Although the title of the painting suggests that it depicts three stages of a womans development in relationships, or perhaps even in life more broadly.

The overall impression is one of contrasting states or emotions. The bright, unclothed central figure, with her upward gaze and raised arms, might symbolize innocence, vulnerability, or perhaps a moment of revelation or aspiration. The woman in white on the left, with her averted gaze and covered form, could represent purity or a more demure aspect. The figure in black on the right, with her bowed head and somber attire, suggests sorrow, introspection, or a heavier emotional burden.
The background is abstract and textured, with areas of light and dark that contribute to the mood. The circular element at the top left could be interpreted as a moon or sun, adding a cosmic or symbolic dimension. The rough, scribbled lines in the background create a sense of unease or rawness. The composition and the varied portrayal of the women suggest themes of femininity, duality, inner emotional states, and perhaps the different facets of human experience or stages of life.
