Айвазовский отличный маренист, наверное лучший.
One of the best, because he always managed to convey the transparency of water and the movement of masses, which is not easy for everyone... Its true that this isnt evident in all his paintings, and it must be said honestly, there are some repetitions (which is actually common among many artists who found their own unique way of depicting a subject), but this is just a consequence of the time when he needed to earn a living.
Excellent! There are no words to describe it. You can stand in front of each seascape for hours.
Excellent! This is a truly remarkable painting. Aivazovsky was a great artist! Conveying the transparency of the water and the tragic scene of a sinking ship on canvas is a feat that few can achieve. There are simply no words to describe the depth of the water.
You cannot comment Why?
The painting evokes a sense of human vulnerability in the face of the overwhelming power of nature. The ship, though a symbol of human endeavor and exploration, is dwarfed by the immense forces of the storm. This juxtaposition highlights the ongoing struggle between humanity and the elements, and the courage required to face such challenges. The presence of the seagulls can be interpreted in various ways: they might symbolize hope or resilience, or perhaps they are simply part of the natural world, continuing their existence regardless of the human drama unfolding. The overall mood is one of tension and awe, capturing both the destructive and the majestic aspects of the sea.
