It seemed to me that they were alive, as if breathing, and I could see the movement in this picture!

Its a look that seems to come from the depths of centuries. Nowadays, children are still like that. Nothing changes.
If the world is a theater and people are actors in it, then friendship is the main director.
A girl has two apples in her hands, while another only has one. The girl with one apple wants to treat her friend and smiles as she offers it.
And the friend looks at us with her big eyes: should I take the apple or not? She only has one, but if she doesnt take it, she will be upset.
You cannot comment Why?
The subtext of this painting seems to revolve around themes of companionship, innocence, and perhaps a hint of unspoken emotion. The gesture of offering the apple can be interpreted as an act of sharing, kindness, and affection between friends. The title, Girlfriend, reinforces this interpretation of a close bond. The contrast in the girls expressions – one actively engaged and smiling, the other more passively observing the viewer – might suggest different personalities interacting or a subtle narrative about their relationship. The presence of the apples themselves can be seen as symbolic of simple pleasures, nature, or even innocence, recalling imagery from the Garden of Eden. The overall mood is tender and intimate, capturing a fleeting moment of childhood connection.
