The walls are decorated with intricate tilework, indicative of a sophisticated aesthetic. Light filters in from an unseen source, illuminating the scene and creating subtle gradations of shadow across the marble surfaces. A lantern hangs suspended from the ceiling, adding to the atmosphere of luxurious seclusion.
Several other figures populate the background. Partially obscured by architectural elements, they appear to be engaged in various activities associated with bathing rituals – some are being attended to, others seem to be observing the scene. The presence of a dark-skinned woman carrying a water vessel introduces an element of servitude and reinforces the sense of a hierarchical social structure within this setting.
