Величайший Английский живописец – портретист сэр Томас Лоуренс обладал необычайно смелой, и точной кистью, он феноменально владел искусством тона, цвета, и фактуры в масляной живописи. Его гениальная живопись, как ей и положено совершенно естественно и гармонично сочетает в себе, казалось – бы не сочетаемые качества – брутальность и мягкость в технике изображения натуры. Именно это свойство его искусства придает особенную чувственность, и трепетность его пардно-камерным портретам, и придает особенную упругость и силу его несравненной живописи. Необычайно мягкие, глубокие и прозрачные тени, насыщенные сложными рефлексами, ярчайший праздничный белый, и общая совершенная гармония цвета в его живописных портретах, потрясают, и завораживают чуткого зрителя, наполняя его чувством ощущения полноты жизни. Необычайно умело и точно расставленные на живописной поверхности его полотен точные тональные, и цветовые акценты, придают произведениям Томаса Лоуренса необычайную свежесть, и праздничную выразительность.
