Above this terrestrial expanse rises a range of mountains. The peaks are sharply defined, their forms simplified into geometric volumes. A cool palette of blues and purples establishes them as distant and ethereal. There is an absence of atmospheric perspective; the mountains do not appear to recede in depth but rather exist as flat planes layered one behind another. This flattening contributes to a sense of abstraction, prioritizing form over realistic representation.
The color choices are significant. The warm tones of the foreground contrast with the cool tones of the background, creating visual separation and emphasizing the distance between the viewer and the mountains.
