Below the tree, a densely packed arrangement of foliage fills the middle ground. Here, hues of green, purple, yellow, and red are applied in similar pointillist fashion, generating an impression of lushness and depth. The horizon line is low, allowing for a broad expanse of sky to occupy the upper portion of the canvas. This sky displays a gradient transitioning from pale yellow near the horizon to a darker tone higher up, suggesting either dawn or dusk.
A border frames the entire scene in black, isolating the landscape within a defined space and enhancing its visual impact. The overall effect is one of heightened color intensity and an almost dreamlike quality.
Subtly, the work seems to explore themes of natures vitality and resilience. The tree, despite its stylized representation, conveys a sense of strength and endurance. The vibrant colors suggest abundance and flourishing life. However, the dense patterning also introduces a degree of abstraction that prevents straightforward interpretation; it is as if the artist is not merely depicting a scene but rather conveying an emotional response to it. The limited depth of field and flattened perspective contribute to this feeling of unreality, suggesting a world viewed through a filter of memory or imagination.
