APOCALYPTICAL POEM
Layers of the Apocalypse...
The island of Patmos, where stones and rocks are.
An island with blackest-black stones.
The air tears its own perspective,
It tears it under the onslaught of visions
Never seen before.
John, contemplating, is calm,
But in his soul – a catalog of moods.
Our apocalypse of today -
The collapse of Japan, unrest everywhere.
The commercial world, calling to me -
Buy, lift your spirits!
Layers of the Apocalypse
Are they decipherable or not?
Trust the skill of theologians
Who previously offered their thoughts,
Interpreting as best they could
The sum of all, the sum of complex symbols.
A path into perspective from anxiety -
How dared you to follow it?
Locusts – is it greed itself?
Multiplied by our pride?
For we failed to live with firmness.
Is it a pity for oneself?
The earth will be drawn into a black scroll,
And there will be no more time.
Who among the living has not been judged
By this grand cosmos?
For conscience is the main law,
Which we constantly violate.
We live separately – here it is,
And what about me? I live wickedly...
A gray-haired man with a belt
Sees something strange, doesnt know
What this means, flickering.
Is it just nonsense? A change of things, perhaps?
The city – the sum of everything:
Buildings, offices, banks and firms.
If filters are not set in the soul -
Then you have missed its essence.
The present is akin to
Times that once existed.
But understand the cyclical nature of periods!
You tried, but understood little.
John painted something,
Filled with anger and bile.
We mistook passions for pearls,
But they rotted in souls, festered...
I see black boats sailing.
I see angels – cast trumpets.
To die for the Savior is a feat.
And the seals burn, key ones.
And no one can break those seals,
Not yet, its not time for that.
People must become different -
That is their duty, a wise burden...

This is The Last Supper, and its my favorite painting! Leonardo da Vinci spent a long time searching for the face to portray Judas (the gray-haired figure on Jesus right).
This Christian legend is fundamentally impossible to illustrate satisfactorily. Even Leonardo da Vinci failed completely in the attempt. The legend does not withstand logical scrutiny and can only satisfy a blindly faithful person who doesnt care about plausibility. Leonardo was not such a person. Therefore, in this case, he, not striving for realism (which seems entirely unattainable), embraced his artistic side to the fullest. This work is purely an artistic creation and in no way reflects any actual event, if it even existed.
Contemplate the eternal, traveler...
You cannot comment Why?
This is Leonardo da Vincis iconic mural, The Last Supper, depicting the moment after Jesus announces that one of his apostles will betray him. The scene is set in a sparsely decorated room, with Jesus at the center, calm and dignified. His followers are arranged in dynamic groups on either side of him, their reactions ranging from shock and anger to confusion and denial.
The subtexts of the painting are rich and multifaceted:
The degraded state of the mural due to Da Vincis experimental techniques and the passage of time adds a layer of melancholy and poignancy to the viewing experience.
