A woman, presumably his mother, leans protectively over him, her gaze directed towards the figure of a bearded man who stands slightly apart, observing with an air of solemnity and perhaps paternal concern. This male figure is draped in flowing robes, suggesting a connection to divine or heroic status. He gestures outwards, as if presenting the child to the world.
