The arrangement is hierarchical. A central peak rises above several smaller formations, creating a sense of monumental scale and imposing presence. The artist’s use of color contributes to this effect; the darker blues emphasize depth and distance while the lighter yellows draw attention to the highest points. Theres an absence of atmospheric perspective – no softening of edges or tonal gradation to suggest distance – which flattens the scene and enhances its abstract quality.
The application of paint appears deliberate, with visible brushstrokes that contribute to a textural surface. The artist seems less interested in replicating visual reality than in conveying a feeling of grandeur and perhaps even spiritual awe. The starkness of the composition, coupled with the limited color range, evokes a sense of isolation and remoteness.
Subtly, there’s an underlying tension between the geometric simplification and the inherent irregularity of natural forms. This juxtaposition hints at a desire to impose order on something inherently chaotic, or perhaps to explore the relationship between human perception and the vastness of nature. The painting doesnt offer a narrative; instead, it presents a meditative study of form, color, and scale, inviting contemplation rather than direct interpretation.
