Dash, Jasna Nikolic – 1600x1200 – ID 23460

The composition presents a dynamic arrangement of forms rendered in bold colors and gestural brushstrokes. A dominant ochre background serves as a vibrant field against which darker shapes emerge, creating a sense of movement and visual tension. The artist employed a limited palette primarily consisting of yellows, reds, purples, blues, and blacks, applied with an expressive looseness that prioritizes feeling over precise representation.
Several equine figures are discernible within the chaotic arrangement. They appear fragmented and abstracted, their forms suggested rather than explicitly defined. One horse, centrally positioned, is characterized by a large, single eye rendered in stark detail, drawing immediate attention and contributing to a sense of unsettling intensity. Other shapes suggest bodies in motion, possibly rearing or galloping, though their precise postures remain ambiguous due to the painterly style.
The overall effect is one of controlled chaos. The forms seem to collide and overlap, creating a layered visual experience that resists easy interpretation. Theres an energy conveyed through the sweeping brushstrokes and the abrupt shifts in color. The artist’s signature, Tek, appears near the lower left corner, while another inscription with the name “Jasna Nikolic” and the year “1975” is located on the right side of the painting.
Subtly, a sense of confinement or struggle might be inferred from the compressed space and the agitated quality of the forms. The single eye, in particular, could suggest vulnerability or an intense awareness within this tumultuous environment. While lacking explicit narrative elements, the work evokes a visceral response, prompting contemplation on themes of power, movement, and perhaps even psychological turmoil.
