The spatial relationships are deliberately ambiguous; there is no clear foreground or background. The overlapping planes suggest depth but simultaneously flatten the image into a two-dimensional surface. Lines, often sharp and angular, serve to delineate these shapes and direct the viewer’s eye across the composition. A network of thin lines, resembling wires or cables, appears to connect certain elements, further contributing to the feeling of dynamism and interconnectedness.
The overall effect is one of fragmentation and simultaneity. The sense of movement is not conveyed through traditional perspective or narrative but rather through the disruption of visual order. It’s as if a landscape has been captured in a series of fleeting moments, then reassembled into an abstract pattern.
Subtly embedded within this abstraction are hints of recognizable elements – a suggestion of foliage, perhaps, or architectural forms – though these are quickly subsumed by the overall geometric structure. This interplay between representation and abstraction creates a tension that invites multiple interpretations. The work seems to explore not just what is seen but also how it is perceived, suggesting a breakdown of traditional modes of visual understanding. It evokes a sense of disorientation, reflecting perhaps a period of rapid change or upheaval – a world in flux where established certainties are questioned.
